A Different Viewpoint

"Uh, Kira, do you want to go out for a soda?" A guy, I must admit he’s cute, was asking me out on a date, the FOURTH ONE!!! I am sooooo lucky!

"Kira, can you come over? I have something I want to tell you. Well…Can you meet me at the lake in 20 minutes? I think you need to know the truth about some things. Bye." Jed hung up the phone before I could ask any questions and I know that was his intent. Oh well, I guess I’ll find out what’s going on when I get to the park. Better leave now, just in case I can find out something he won’t tell me. Grabbing her backpack- full of her weapons- Kira raced out of her apartment and headed to the park at full speed.

"So, you believe that this ‘Kira’ you know is really the missing Commander of the First Army? Hmmm…I want you to bring her here for questioning. Tell her just enough to make her curious to come here, let Zoisite, and Kunzite handle the rest." Bowing to Queen Beryl, Jadeite left the Negaverse just in time to meet Kira at the park.

Instead of Jed waiting for her like she expected, all she saw was the reflection of the moon on the lake. It’s beautiful. The moon reflects and refracts on the lake’s calm surface and makes it look like there’s one under the water’s surface. "Kira? Kira, are you here yet?" Turning around but staying in the shadows under the trees, I almost gave away my position. Walking out, making it look like I came from the path, I broke the silence that had fallen over him.

"Jed?" Tapping ‘Jed’ on the shoulder, I almost laughed when he jumped three feet into the air. I think he envied my ability to sneak up on people without them hearing. "Kira?! Gods Kira, never do that to me again." Bowing to me, he cocked his eyebrow in my direction. "Allow me to introduce myself," ‘Jed’ said while bowing. "My name is Jadeite."

Jadeite stood, or rather floated, at the bank of the lake. Dark blue eyes were framed by light blonde hair which fell just short of his eyes. Nothing different there I thought. Instead of wearing the t-shirt-and-jeans outfit that he usually did, Jadeite was in a uniform of sorts. Dark blue and very military, it was piped with blood red and a black belt circled his slim waist. Everything somehow looked ‘right’ on him, like Jed’s regular outfit never did. Because he hovered slightly, it was easy to tell he wore dark brown leather boots and even more obvious was the fact that he walked very little in ‘this’ form, the leather still looked new. The only thing about Jadeite that was familiar was the fact that he wore his little sad smile he always had on when we met, like he knew something I didn’t but that he wouldn’t tell me.

Just like Jed to be smug at a time like this. What’s so different about him? I thought. I know! It’s the fact that Jadeite looks so much older than Jed does. If only Darien could see ‘Jed’ now, he wouldn’t think ‘Jed’ looked quite so young. Chuckling at the thought of Darien seeing ‘Jed’ as an adult, I started laughing loudly.

"What’s so funny?" Jadeite demanded. "I know I do
